Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Ademola Lookman has been rated the joint-best player in the 2024-2025 Italian Serie A round four.
Ademola Lookman’s outstanding performance in Atalanta’s 3-2 victory over Fiorentina at Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo earned him the prestigious rating.
In his debut league appearance for Atalanta, the Nigerian forward not only assisted Mateo Retegui’s 21st-minute goal, which equalized the score after Fiorentina’s early opener but also scored the winning goal just before the end of the first half.
This impressive performance led to Lookman being rated 8/10 alongside Udinese’s Florian Thauvin, making them the best-performing players in Serie A round 4, according to Italian sports papers.
Lega Serie A also recognized Lookman as the official Man of the Match for his exceptional contribution to Atalanta’s victory.
Meanwhile, Thauvin played a key role in Udinese’s 3-2 comeback win in Parma, scoring two goals and also earning the Man of the Match award.
Notable performances in the latest round also came from Napoli’s Alex Meret, Romelu Lukaku, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, all averaging 7.5.
Bologna’s Santiago Castro, AC Milan’s Christian Pulisic, and Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic also stood out with the same rating.
As Atalanta prepare to face Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, Lookman’s consistent form will be crucial as they aim for success in the competition.
Note that Lookman is the only African player nominated for this year’s Ballon d’Or thanks in part to his memorable hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in last year’s UEFA Europa League final, which secured the trophy for Atalanta.
