Super Eagles interim coach Augustine Eguavoen has acknowledged the challenge that awaits his team when they face Libya in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
The highly-anticipated encounter between the Super Eagles and the Mediterranean Knights is set to take place in Uyo at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 11.
Currently, Nigeria is positioned at the top of Group D with four points from two games, while Libya are occupying the bottom of the table.
Ahead of the must-win match for both teams, Eguavoen expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure a win over Libya.
Despite considering the Super Eagles as favourites, the coach emphasized that Libya will approach the match with determination to secure a positive result and improve their standing in the group.
“They have one point and are bottom of the group. We are aware of our position and they are aware of their position,” Eguavoen told the Super Eagles media.
“They will come here and fight. We are not thinking about the away game; our focus is on the game in front of us on Friday.
“We will fight for the three points. We know what it means to get the job done as quickly as possible.
“It is going to be tough, but the boys are in good spirits. We have no injury and everyone is ready.”
