IBF world heavyweight boxing champion, Daniel Dubois has boldly stated his eagerness to step into the ring once more against former two-time heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua in a highly anticipated rematch.

In an interview with BoxNation, Daniel Dubois expressed a strong conviction about the upcoming bout, insisting he is fully prepared to demonstrate to the world that he reigns supreme in the heavyweight division.

Dubois noted the psychological hurdles facing Joshua, suggesting that doubts and internal struggles may linger in the former champion’s mind.

“He’ll have a lot of demons playing on his mind. Who knows if people are talking him into it; I don’t know. I know from my side I’m ready to go out there and show the world that I’m the king,” Dubois said.

Should a rematch with Joshua not materialize, the ambitious 27-year-old has set his sights on avenging his recent defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

This scenario hinges on Usyk successfully overcoming Tyson Fury in their forthcoming rematch scheduled for December.

Dubois said, “That’s unfinished business. I want to get that one right. I want to do it properly and finish him [Usyk]. It will be a good fight, a unification fight; that’s massive.”

Dubois’s previous encounter with Joshua last month was nothing short of dramatic. After initially seeking to capitalize on his opportunity for a championship title, Dubois managed to drop Joshua multiple times at the iconic Wembley Stadium, where an electrifying crowd of 98,000 fans witnessed the action.

The fight culminated in a defining moment when Dubois delivered a powerful right hand in Round 5, leaving Joshua on the canvas for the fourth time in his career and marking a significant upset in the boxing world.

This unexpected defeat sent shockwaves throughout the boxing community, prompting many analysts and fans to speculate about the future of Joshua, who has faced increasing scrutiny following this setback.

However, Joshua quickly dispelled any concerns regarding his career trajectory by vowing to persist in the sport. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, confirmed that the Middle Eastern kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the much-anticipated rematch as part of the Riyadh Season—a grand festival showcasing an array of entertainment and sporting events, which runs from October to early March.

In a statement by the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh, a tentative date for the bout between Joshua and Dubois was revealed, with February being targeted for this significant clash.
