The Katsina State Police Commissioner, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, has presented a cheque of approximately ₦27.5 million to the families of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
A total of 36 families received this financial support during a ceremony aimed at providing assistance to the bereaved.
In a statement released on Friday, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, highlighted that this initiative falls under various insurance schemes, including the Group Life Insurance, Group Personal Accident, and the Inspector General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Schemes.
During the presentation, Commissioner Musa expressed his gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his generosity towards the families affected by these tragic losses.
He emphasized the importance of utilizing the funds wisely to achieve the intended purpose of offering support to the families of the fallen officers.
Musa further extended his prayers for the souls of the deceased officers, acknowledging the ultimate sacrifice they made for the nation.
One of the beneficiaries, Najib Ibrahim, conveyed appreciation on behalf of the families. He thanked the Inspector General of Police for the financial aid and pledged to use the funds effectively to improve their lives. Ibrahim also prayed for guidance for the leadership of the police command and the Force at large.
