The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, has described the death of his daughter, Fatima, as a great loss.
He, however, added that he remains grateful to God for his mercies and looks forward to seeing his daughter again in Jannah.
The NNPC boss spoke via a statement on his X account on Tuesday, days after the death of his daughter, who passed away at 25.
According to Kyari, Fatima had physical challenges during her lifetime but was still able to touch many hearts in a soothing way, which is a lesson for all human beings to show love and care regardless of personal circumstances.
‘My daughter Fatima departed at her appointed time, and looking forward to meeting her in Jannah by Allah’s grace. While the loss is great by all measures, we remain grateful to God for all his mercies.
“I didn’t know the depth of her connections with many people and what she meant to many. Despite her physical challenges, she is able touch hearts in very soothing ways, including me.
“Above all, her demise brought many people together and demonstrated that we all can care for others irrespective of our social circumstances.”
He expressed his appreciation to those who consoled him and the family over the loss of Fatima.
“I profoundly thank our leaders, family members, friends, associates, colleagues, our teachers and the countless unmentioned that joined us to pray for the repose of her soul and for consoling us,” the NNPC boss added.
